Ingredients
- 1 lb Korean rice cakes (tteok), soaked if frozen
- 2–3 cups anchovy-kelp stock or water
- 2–3 tablespoons gochujang
- 1 tablespoon gochugaru (optional)
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- Fish cakes, scallions, sesame seeds; optional boiled egg
Steps
- Bring stock to a simmer; whisk in gochujang, gochugaru, soy, sugar, and garlic.
- Add rice cakes (and fish cakes); simmer, stirring, until sauce thickens and cakes are chewy-tender, 8–12 minutes.
- Stir in scallions; top with sesame and egg if using.
