French Toast

Ingredients
- 4 thick slices stale bread (brioche or challah)
- 2 eggs + 1/2 cup milk or cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, pinch salt
- Butter for the pan; maple syrup
Steps
1. Whisk eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt.
2. Soak bread briefly on both sides.
3. Cook in buttered skillet until golden each side.
4. Serve with maple syrup.
